I attended John Lea School between 1956 and 1959. I moved to Daventry in 1967 and return to Wellingborough regularly to visit family. During a family get together I learned the school was to be demolished. In 2001 I had some spare time and decided to research the history of school in the hope of building an archive and producing a book.... |

I was at John Lea between 1978 and 1985, and my younger brother, Steve, was there between 1988 and 1995. We lived quite close to the school, in Berrymoor Road on the Kingsway estate, a 10 minute walk away, in fact I could see the school from my bedroom window... |
